- For Technician Grade 1 Signal: Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Instrumentation from a recognized University/Institute or a three-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant fields.
- For Technician Grade 3: Applicants must have completed Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in specified trades or Matriculation/SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the related trades.
- Technician Grade 1 Signal: 18 to 36 years
- Technician Grade 3: 18 to 33 years

The selection process for the RRB Technician Vacancies includes three stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): The first stage of the selection process, where candidates are tested on relevant subjects based on the post they have applied for.
- Document Verification: Candidates who qualify for the CBT will be called for document verification.
- Medical Examination: Post document verification, candidates will undergo a medical examination to ensure they are medically fit for the position.
- For SC/ST/ESM/PWDs/Female/Transgender/Minorities/EBC – ₹250/- (This fee shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in CBT.)
- For Other Categories – ₹500/- (Out of this fee, ₹400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in CBT.)
